Data Protection Solicitor, hybrid or remote working, L500 firm A leading UK law firm is seeking an experienced Data Protection Solicitor to join its growing regulatory and compliance team. This is an exciting opportunity for a legal professional with a strong background in data protection, privacy, and information law to advise a diverse client base across multiple sectors.Role Overview:The successful candidate will provide expert legal advice on a broad range of data protection and privacy matters, including compliance, regulatory investigations, and data-related disputes. This role requires a high level of technical knowledge and the ability to manage complex matters independently.Key Responsibilities:Advising on UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, the Freedom of Information Act 2000, and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR)Handling incident response matters, including regulator notifications, investigations, and client communicationsResponding to data subject access requests (DSARs) and Freedom of Information (FOI) requestsDrafting and advising on Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), privacy notices, policies, and compliance documentationPreparing and reviewing data sharing agreements and data processing contractsConducting data flow mapping and developing Records of Processing Activities (RoPAs)Carrying out compliance reviews and audits for clients across a range of sectorsSupporting litigators in data breach-related claims and contentious data protection issuesDelivering external training on data protection compliance and best practiceCandidate Profile:A qualified solicitor with a minimum of 3 years’ post-qualification experience (PQE)Strong working knowledge of UK data protection laws and regulatory frameworksPrevious experience in a law firm, specialist consultancy, or large in-house team (public or private sector)Benefits:This position offers a competitive salary DOE and an attractive benefits package, including:25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidaysPrivate pension schemeMedical insuranceLife assurance (4x salary)Group income protectionDiscretionary bonusEnhanced maternity and paternity payPaid sick leaveEmployee assistance programme (EAP)Ongoing professional development and structured trainingInclusive and supportive team cultureRegular social events and fundraising opportunitiesFlexible & Hybrid Working:This role supports fully remote or hybrid working in Leeds, allowing for work-life balance, wellbeing, and sustainability.If you meet the above criteria, please apply directly via the link or contact Rachael Atherton at G2 Legal Recruitment.
