Product Developer at SculpdWe are looking for a Product Developer to join us at Sculpd to help develop the next range of innovative products to enable people to get back in touch with their crafty side.You will be responsible for driving the development of products from concept through to release and it will be your job to obsess over customer experience, while also ensuring the products make commercial sense. You will be full of fresh ideas, bring creative energy, and be able to work with a whole host of teams to deliver creative and high quality products.Sculpd is on a mission to make crafts cool againIn 2020 we set out to reinvent pottery. Once confined to the studios of trained ceramicists and the back rooms of trendy London cafes, pottery has long been a scarcely accessible and expensive part-time hobby. Or for most, something they haven’t tried since their school years. We set out to change that.We built the brand around the idea that everyone is crafty in their own way. We’re inspiring people to create things with their hands that they are proud of, while bringing people together in the process. Since launch we’ve built an audience of 1m+ on social media with over half a million happy customers globally. Expanding from pottery into adjacent crafts, it feels like we’ve only just started. We’re looking to build on our platform to make modern crafts part of everyone’s lives. The role and how you’ll be working As the Product Development Manager at Sculpd you will have the opportunity to shape the direction of the product and ultimately the success of the business as we aim to disrupt the status quo for craftsYou’ll lead the development and execution of new products from concept to launchUnderstand upcoming trends and consumer insights and use this to drive the product development roadmapDevelop product roadmaps aligned with brand strategy, business goals, and consumer demands. Manage a pipeline of product innovations and improvements to ensure timely and efficient execution.Delve into the customer’s experience and continuously feed findings into product developmentPresent ideas for innovative new products, demonstrating thorough understanding of customer experience, costs, margins and the overall business strategyWork directly with the design team to bring to life conceptsManage all areas of the product development process such as: proof checking artwork; ensuring the contents, product imagery, barcodes, product codes and batch codes are all correctEnsure that compliance is adhered to by identifying testing and labeling requirements Work directly with our manufacturing partners to source materials, ingredients, and packaging components for product development.Ensure product meets financial targets while considering the design and when manufacturingProject manage each project from concept to release ensuring key milestones are met and that all stakeholders have deliveredDescription of type of candidate we’re looking forYou are a passionate creative with a love for business Obsessed with product quality and gaining a deep understanding of the customer experienceSelf-starter with creativity and the ability to own your own projects to completion3+ years experience in an equivalent product development position, ideally in a fast growth direct-to-consumer businessA high level of commercial awareness and the ability to combine this with your creative flair to bring new products to lifeGreat communicator - ability to explain product concepts and specifications to a wide audience - i.e. Founders, Designers, Procurement, SuppliersExperience of managing multiple suppliers and manufacturers Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise own and others focus accordinglyAbout the roleWe’re remote-first and have team members all around the world.  This is a six-month contract role with the possibility of extension after the initial period.
