Java Software Developer - SaaS, REST API, Microservices, Docker.Newly created Java Software Developer opportunity due to growth; you will collaborate with project partners to design and implement SaaS solutions for a large, high profile, European programme.This role is crucial in advancing standards and protocols for long-term digital strategy and contributing to the creation of a registry for finding and integrating digital preservation software tools and services.ResponsibilitiesDevelop software services for digital archiving and trusted digital repositories.Integrate SaaS, supporting specifications, protocols, and data mapping/transformation.Contribute to creating a registry for software tools and services.Apply and advance standards and protocols for long-term digital preservation.Engage with early adopters to validate and refine models and tools.Essential Skills and ExperienceProficiency in programming in Java (and/or Python).Experience with developing cloud hosted software solutions.Design, development and use of REST APIs.Familiarity with containerization such as Docker and k8s.Experience of tools and techniques for data and metadata transformation, mapping, packaging and exchange, especially using JSON and XML.Benefits:Salary range £50-£70kPension, 25 days holiday, private medical, dental & life.Engage with early adopters to validate and refine software archiving models and tools.Join a rapidly growing SaaS business at the forefront of digital preservation.Contribute to a European-wide initiative impacting the future of open science.Please make contact for full details and immediate consideration.
