Independent Prescriber (V300) – Medical Cannabis ClinicReports to: Chief Medical OfficerEmployer: Anna MedicinalsLocation: Birmingham Based Contract Type: Full-time & Part-time roles availableWorking Hours: Monday - Friday, 9 AM - 5 PMAbout Anna MedicinalsAnna Medicinals is a new medical cannabis clinic dedicated to providing safe, high-qualitytreatment options to patients with complex and unmet medical needs. We operate within ahighly regulated environment and are committed to upholding the highest standards ofpatient care, compliance, and clinical excellence.We are seeking qualified and experienced Independent Prescribers (Registered Nurses,Pharmacists, or Aesthetic Practitioners) who hold a V300 qualification and are eager tocontribute to a pioneering area of medicine. This role offers the opportunity to work in adynamic and innovative sector while making a meaningful impact on patient outcomes.About the RoleThe Independent Prescriber will work within a structured Shared Care Model, ensuring thesafe prescribing and monitoring of Cannabis-Based Medicinal Products (CBMPs) inaccordance with Care Quality Commission (CQC) and General Pharmaceutical Council(GPhC) , GMC or depending on the candidate's professional registration. The role requiresan individual who is meticulous, patient-focused, and able to deliver exceptional care whilenavigating a rapidly evolving medical field.Key Responsibilities:Clinical Governance & Compliance• Adhere to CQC regulatory standards and uphold clinical governance policies.• Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and procedures.• Maintain professional registration and attend required training and developmentactivities.Prescribing & Patient Care• Assess and prescribe within scope of practice in line with clinical guidelines andshared care agreements.• Assist with follow-up appointments under Shared Care Agreement• Provide accurate information to patients about CBMPs, including benefits, risks, andprescribed use.• Support patients in their ongoing treatment, addressing queries and monitoringtreatment efficacy and safety.• Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure seamless patientcare.Collaboration & Communication• Liaise with prescribers, general practitioners, and other healthcare professionals toensure coordinated patient care.• Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records in line with data protectionregulations and internal policies.• Act as a clinical resource, providing guidance and support to patients and colleagues.Operational Support & Development• Assist in the development of clinical protocols and standard operating procedures.• Identify opportunities to enhance patient services and contribute to serviceimprovement initiatives.• Maintain high professional and ethical standards in all interactions with patients,colleagues, and stakeholders.Essential CriteriaQualifications & Registration• Registered Nurse, with a valid professional registration (NMC, GPhC, orrelevant governing body).• V300 Independent Prescribing qualification.Experience & Skills• Demonstrated experience in independent prescribing within a healthcare setting.• Strong understanding of clinical governance and compliance within a regulatedhealthcare environment.• Ability to apply effective clinical judgment and decision-making skills.• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.• High level of numeracy and literacy skills.Person Specification• Experience in private healthcare or medical cannabis prescribing (preferred)• Understanding of the regulatory framework surrounding CBMPs in the UK.• Clinical leadership experience.• Familiarity with electronic patient record systems.• Experience working in a dynamic, fast-moving start-up environment (preferred)Personal Attributes• Compassionate and patient-focused approach.• High attention to detail, strong organisational and time management skills.• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.• Adaptable and eager to learn in an evolving field of medicine.Why Join Anna Medicinals?• Opportunity to work in a cutting-edge medical sector with a growing patient base.• Flexible working arrangements and a supportive team environment.• Career development and ongoing professional training.• Make a meaningful impact by improving access to innovative treatments for patientswith complex conditions.Anna Medicinals is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering an inclusive anddiverse workplace.
