Job Description

A leading name in the dairy sector is looking for a Senior Category Manager to join its dynamic and commercially focused team. With a portfolio of instantly recognisable brands in the yogurt and dessert space - plus a strong presence in own-label - this business operates at the forefront of innovation, category insight, and retail collaboration.This is a hybrid role based in Surrey, with flexibility to work from home a few days a week and occasional travel to customer or internal meetings.Key Responsibilities:Act as a category expert to key grocery retail partners, delivering unbiased insight and strategic recommendations that help shape the category and drive mutual growth.Lead the category agenda for designated brands, partnering closely with Brand, Sales, and Marketing to deliver insight-led NPD and trade strategies.Support range reviews, distribution drives, and promotional strategies, providing compelling rationale backed by data.Drive internal engagement with category plans, inspiring key stakeholders and influencing decision-making across functions.Lead customer-facing presentations and develop tailored category solutions using shopper, consumer and market data.What You’ll Need:Solid experience in FMCG category management, ideally with exposure to Top 4 UK retailers.Strong analytical and commercial acumen — confident using IRI, Kantar, retailer loyalty data (e.g. Dunnhumby, SIP, Quantium), and space planning tools.A collaborative approach with the ability to influence across functions and at multiple levels.Skilled in storytelling through data — using Excel and PowerPoint to bring insight to life.A genuine passion for FMCG and delivering results through strategic thinking and execution.This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative, brand-led organisation with a supportive culture and strong growth ambitions.
