Head of Legal – London, UKGFO-X is seeking a Head of Legal to join our growing team in London, UK.GFO-X is the UK's first regulated and centrally cleared trading venue dedicated to digital asset derivatives.Role:Provide legal guidance on a wide range of legal matters such as contracts, regulatory compliance, litigation, employment law, intellectual property and corporate governanceReview, draft, and negotiate a wide variety of contracts and agreements, including those related to trading, technology, and partnerships. Advise senior management on legal risks and opportunities related to business strategyIdentifying and mitigating legal risksManage relationships with external legal counselDeveloping and implementing policies and procedures to ensure that the company is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulationsStay up-to-date with industry developments and changes in laws and regulations affecting the businessProviding support on the drafting of responses to relevant regulatory consultationsProvide training to staff on legal matters (as appropriate)Requirements:A qualified lawyer with at least 10+ years of experience in a legal role, with a focus on financial servicesExperience working in financial market infrastructure or other fintech company is highly desirableExcellent knowledge of financial services regulations, particularly those related to derivatives tradingStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong project management skills and ability to prioritize competing demandsExperience managing external legal counselExperience in negotiating and documenting complex commercial contractsThis role is to be based in our London office headquarters.
