We’re working with a well-established building services consultancy that specialises in low-carbon design for commercial, industrial, and public-sector buildings. With a strong reputation for delivering sustainable, energy-efficient systems, they are now seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to lead key HVAC projects across the UK.In this role, you’ll take ownership of mechanical design packages from early-stage concept through to final commissioning. You’ll work closely with clients, contribute to technical development, and lead the design and delivery of high-performing, low-carbon systems.Key Responsibilities:Lead the design of low-carbon HVAC systems, including heat pumps, VRF/VRV, and solar thermalDevelop detailed technical specifications, performance briefs, and design calculationsManage projects through the full lifecycle, from concept to installation and commissioningOversee tender processes and evaluate contractor submissionsProvide technical guidance and client-facing support across sustainability and compliance goalsEnsure installations meet regulatory standards and design intent on-siteKey Requirements:Degree, HND or HNC in Mechanical or Building Services EngineeringChartered or Incorporated Engineer (CEng or IEng), or actively working towardsProficiency in Hevacomp, IES VE, DesignBuilder, Revit MEP or AutoCADStrong understanding of CIBSE Guides, Part L and relevant UK building standardsExcellent communication and project leadership skillsThis is an excellent opportunity to join a respected consultancy delivering meaningful work in decarbonisation and building performance.
