TL;DRLove video games? Love football? Love cutting shit-hot edits that hit hard? Were looking for a strong video editor with a decent dollop of motion graphics chops to help us first create and then spin gameplay captures, motion graphics and other bits and bobs into polished, shiny creative gold. You should know your way around a Premiere timeline and After Effects, with a strong sense of what makes content land, especially on social. If you can go in-engine for game captures, we love you.Please note that this role is on-site at our Leeds city centre office only. Remote working is not an option for this one.WHO ARE OTHER THINGS?Were a creative agency with a focus on the gaming and entertainment industries. We produce a lot of videos, websites, marketing and brand assets, and all the other creative bits in-between, for some of the worlds biggest gaming brands.Were called Other Things.WHATS THE JOB?Were after a versatile, creative video editor with motion chops who can turn raw footage, gameplay and other random assets into scroll-stopping content. Youll be cutting together trailers, short-form video, social edits, sizzle reels and everything in between - sometimes fast, always polished.We want someone who gets how video works in the gaming and football space. You understand pace, rhythm, timing and what keeps a viewer watching. Youll bring energy and creativity to every project, combining clever storytelling with clean motion design and a sharp eye for detail.Youll be working closely with our writers, designers, producers and clients - shaping content that gets seen by millions. Youll also need to keep up with social trends, cultural moments, and what fans are actually watching.Youll know how to take compelling gameplay captures then edit them into content that hits hard online. It's pretty important that you enjoy and are good at playing football video games, as the quality of the game captures you can take will be determined by how good you are at playing the game.If you have the skills / ability / technical aptitude to use Unreal Engine to take in-engine captures then were very interested in talking to you.MORE DETAILS? AS BULLET POINTS?KEY RESPONSIBILITIESEdit a wide range of content: trailers, social edits, sizzles, explainers, hype videos, and moreDesign and animate motion graphics for intros, overlays, transitions, captions, and brandingCapture gameplay footage in-game (and ideally in-engine). Cinematography experience, and knowing how to frame a shot, will be vital.Cut footage from gameplay, interviews, live-action shoots or archive material and make it sing (or chant)Create content specifically designed to perform well on socialBring fresh, relevant creative thinking to every brief - from concept to final deliveryWork closely with creative leads, producers, and designers to keep content aligned and on-brandStay on top of whats trending in video content across gaming, football, and pop cultureEnsure final exports are technically sound, beautifully presented, and ready for deliveryWHAT WERE LOOKING FORA strong showreel or portfolio that shows range, creativity, and polishExpert-level skills in Adobe Premiere Pro and After EffectsComfortable with both editing and motion graphics - titles, transitions and light animationStrong understanding of editing for social: hook-first mindset, vertical video experience, fast-paced storytellingGood sense of sound design, music sync and paceAble to work quickly and accurately under pressure (without sacrificing quality)Passionate about football and football culture - you know the energy of a last-minute winner and how it should feel in an editStrong attention to detail and a love for good storytelling, even in short formatsA good team player with a collaborative mindsetNICE-TO-HAVESExperience working with sports or gaming brandsKnowledge of templates, motion libraries or plug-ins to speed up workflowsBig bonus if you play and love football gamesFamiliarity with tools like Frame.io, Trello, Slack, Google SuiteBasic colour grading or sound mix skillsAny experience with 3D or animationWHATS IN IT FOR ME?Apart from some cold, hard cash?
