We are hiring a Head of Health, Safety & Environment to join our Operational Leadership Team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to lead our Health and Safety, Environmental, Facilities and Security teams across our class leading facilities in Castleford and Pontefract, West Yorkshire. Our mix that awaits you:As a Head of Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) you will be responsible for ensuring Policy and Framework governance is in place with full compliance to country law and changing legislation.Lead and engage the Senior team, Front Lines teams and Factory teams in a Continuous Improvement approach to HSE, embedding Systems and Accountability at every level. At Haribo, we like to do things our own way without constraints and this is your opportunity to write your own playbook.The Ideal candidate will excel at visual management and embedding systems, helping to create a culture of wellbeing for people and planet across Haribos UK Operations, including Retail stores.The position will operate within Corporate Global Team, UK Senior team and supporting the UK Board in KPI management, education and awareness and ultimately Business Continuity processes. Our Needs from you: Set H&S Strategy, deployment and governance across UK OperationsPromote a positive and engaged Health & Safety Culture with high activation of colleagues in Systems working and tools to drive a Zero Injury FutureOwn the Carbon Mapping and Energy Reduction strategy for Haribo UKEnsure legality is achieved and updates on changing legislationProvide Leadership, guidance and support to all functions in relation to the delivery of HSE responsibilitiesMaintain and engage with wider Haribo Sustainability practices and ensure the UK is at the leading edge within Food & Beverage in its operationsOperating within the UK Operations Leadership team in support of UK Business strategies Support Global Sites through Fresh Eye audits overseas and provide specialist SME advice on Capex projects in UK and Investigations or improvements within Group Ingredients that you bring with you:In-depth knowledge of current Health, Safety and Environmental legislation and relevant standardsKnowledge and experience in Property risk management, Business Continuity and Business risk managementKnowledge and experience in Environmental managementEngaging and Curious towards People and BehavioursWell organised, co-ordinator and plannerProven track record in developing and delivering presentation and training materialProject management skillsManaging and coaching of Direct ReportsAble to communicate at all levels within the business, from Floor to Boardroom Qualifications/ExperienceChartered Safety Practitioner (CMIOSH)NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and SafetyExperienced manager with proven experience in the environmental risk professional fieldDegree level environmental management qualification (IEMA or CIWEM) or equivalent experienceEnvironmental audit / compliance inspection skillsExperience of developing ISO 14001 management systemsExcellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbalExperience in management operations and leadershipAbility to work under pressure whilst meeting deadlines and achieving targetsA flexible approach to work and a willingness to work above expectationsAbility to influence and challengeSolid understanding of financial managementExperience of working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is essential Applications/Next stepsIf this sounds like the ideal role, either reach out to JP for a confidential chat on 07922452465, or apply at the link.
