But most retailers, given how wide and diverse the sector is, dont have the skills to make something that aligns with their brand, their vision, or that can make the journey for their customer the best experience they could want. Our developers are very involved in discussing our projects and progress with clients, and whilst you cant shake away from the fact that you, yes, will be building websites on Shopify, we are also diversifying into application development and a few other fun areas when the project is right for the studio.In a nutshell though, your duties and responsibilities will beWebsite builds for Shopify / Shopify Plus platformsAssisting the Development team with all aspects of software design and coding.Attending and contributing to company development meetingsLearning the codebase and improving your coding skillsWriting and maintaining codeMust provide code documentation with your workWorking on bug fixesResponding to requests from the head of development and/or project management team to provide estimations and project milestone updates.Responding to request from clientsWho are we looking for?We get it. A 15K salary banding looks wild, like were shooting blind. But in reality, as were recruiting two vacancies we could be hiring someone stepping from junior developer to mid-career, or someone stepping up into a senior developer role for the first time- so were casting a wide net here. We need good, effective and competent developers who can hit the ground running and add some value, as these are growth roles for us to keep up with the demand for our services.In terms of some high level information though, were afterKnowledge of front-end coding languages including CSS, HTML, JavaScript is essential.Knowledge and experience with Vue JS or React are highly desirable.Shopify Liquid Experience would be great, but we are confident we can teach a competent front-end developer.Experience with Vanilla would be a huge plus, but not essential.An understanding of PHP (yeah we know its more back end, its handy for migrations though!) is highly beneficial but not essential.Experience working on agency projects clearing backlog, picking up projects at different stages and managing to completionSomeone with experience working with a team of varied skill and experience level- we know this can be stressful when work is being sprinted on, so understanding this environment is key for your happiness and successNaturally youve gotta be au fait with working with wikis, slack etc. Whats in it for you?Lets get this out of the way early - were not Meta or Google.
