Job Title Lab Technician Machinist If your skills, experience, and qualifications match those in this job overview, do not delay your application.Location RedditchTemp or Perm - PermSalary - 28k-33kScope and ResponsibilitiesManufacture test pieces from metal using: CNC milling machines, Manual lathes, Band saws and other cutting toolsInterpret engineering drawings and machining specifications to ensure dimensional accuracy and surface finish requirementsPerform quality checks and basic measurements using micrometres, callipers, and gaugesMaintain cleanliness and organization in the machine shopCollaborate with technicians and engineers to support testing projectsAdhere to health, safety, and environmental procedures in a laboratory settingDocument machining parameters and maintain job recordsThe technician must be methodical and work closely to proceduresThe technician will support the senior members of the laboratory with other ad hoc duties as required - e.g., LIMS data entry, record keeping, stock controlThe technician must be flexible and able to provide a reasonable level of overtime as required to support the business (agreed on a weekly basis)The technician must be able to work to tight deadlines without being closely supervisedProfessional Competencies and ExperienceMachining skills lathe, milling, CNCFamiliarity with machine shop tools and safety practicesAbility to read and understand technical drawings and tolerancesEffectively communicate to the team both written and verballyHigh level of accuracyDemonstrate integrityShows respect for othersCommunicates and influencesDrives for resultsThinks analyticallyProfessional expertiseFosters teamwork and involvementFosters open communication
