Our Public Sector Client based in Newport requires 2 Gardeners to join their busy building Street scene & City Services Team. The positions are due to start as soon as possible and run for approximately 12 weeks.If you are considering sending an application, make sure to hit the apply button below after reading through the entire description.The main purpose of the role is to work as directed to carry out all aspects of practical amenity horticulture to the highest standards as required by the Grounds Maintenance Specification and Team.Using a high level of gardening skills to meet the horticultural standards within thespecification and to undertake all horticultural operations, including:Grassing cutting duties/strimming/hedge trimming/clearing leaves and litterPlanting out of bedding plants, trees and shrubsShrub bed planting and maintenance (e.g. pruning and division)Application of chemicalsMaintenance, setting out and marking sports facilitiesGeneral soft landscaping works (e.g. top-soiling, cultivation, seeding, shrub-bed renewal etc.)Candidates will also be required to operate and maintain vehicles, plant & machinery. Due to the nature of the work, a proven track record of two years practical experience in Ground Maintenance work or an NVQ Level one in Horticulture.Candidates will need a valid driving license that has been held for a minimum of 12 months.The hourly rate for these roles is 12.59 per hour.Please apply in the first instance toBarker Ross Group values diversity and promotes equality.
