Five Education is working with a small, welcoming primary school in Bath to recruit a committed 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to support a child with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The role will involve working closely with one child, providing tailored, consistent support to help them access the curriculum, regulate emotions, and thrive within the school environment.This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a difference and is looking to gain valuable experience in SEND education. Previous experience is helpful, but not essential. What matters most is your patience, reliability and willingness to learn.You'll receive support and guidance from your dedicated Five Education consultant, along with access to free training such as Makaton, Team Teach and PMLD Awareness.Main Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 support throughout the school day, adapting activities to meet the child's needs Foster a safe, positive and engaging learning environment Promote emotional regulation and social development Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCo to follow individual support plans Support the child during playtime and lunchtime to ensure their well-being and inclusionEssential Criteria: Reliable, empathetic and confident in supporting children with additional needs Available to work full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30-15:30 (term-time only), from September 2025 Right to work in the UK - we cannot offer sponsorship or accept Skilled Worker visas Able to provide two recent references (from the last two years) Hold an enhanced DBS check on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one Please note, if you do not have a Non-Voluntary Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, we will need to help you process a new one at a cost of 62.70.
