Job Title: Road Freight Customs CoordinatorIf your skills, experience, and qualifications match those in this job overview, do not delay your application.Location: Ipswich, IP10Salary: 28,000Working Hours: Monday to Friday, standard office hoursAbout the Role:We are currently recruiting for a detail-oriented and proactive Road Freight Customs Coordinator to join our growing team in Ipswich. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with customs experience-particularly in European road freight-to take a hands-on role in coordinating UK and EU import/export declarations using a variety of industry-standard platforms.You will work closely with operational teams, clients, and regulatory bodies to ensure customs compliance and timely processing of road freight shipments.Key Responsibilities:Work as part of a collaborative customs team, reporting to a Team Leader, Supervisor, or Customs Manager.Accurately process CDS import declarations and CHIEF export declarations using commercial invoices and packing lists.Sign customs and shipping documents under Power of Attorney on behalf of clients, following correct compliance procedures.Liaise directly with importers and internal operations staff to obtain and verify key documentation and data for customs entries.Support clients with the classification of goods (tariff codes) and their implications on duty and VAT.Input data and complete entries using specialist customs systems such as:CDS (Customs Declaration Service)CHIEFCNSDestin8NCTSNESEnsure accuracy and legal compliance in all entries submitted to HMRC and associated authorities.Key Requirements:Experience in customs clearance, ideally within a road freight environment .Knowledge of UK customs procedures , tariff classification, and key documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, POAs).Experience with one or more customs platforms (CDS, CNS, Destin8, NCTS, NES).Strong attention to detail and ability to process high volumes accurately and quickly.Confident communicator with a proactive and team-oriented attitude.Able to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.WR Logistics are the #1 recruitment partner for all vacancies in the logistics industry.
