Job Title: Fractional Programme/Portfolio Manager (Contract)Scroll down to find the complete details of the job offer, including experience required and associated duties and tasks.Contract Type: 6-Month Contract (Outside IR35)Working Pattern: Part-Time 2 Days per Week (on average)Location: Hybrid Remote with Onsite Presence (Luton/Northampton 1 day per week)Start Date: ASAPOverview:We are seeking an experienced and versatile Fractional Programme/Portfolio Manager to support our senior project and leadership team in driving the successful delivery of key programmes and projects. This is a strategic role ideal for a seasoned professional with a strong track record across both public and private sectors, who can operate confidently at board level and bring structure, insight, and momentum to complex delivery environments.Key Responsibilities:Provide strategic programme and portfolio management support to the Senior Project Manager and Leadership Team.Oversee and coordinate a portfolio of in-house projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timelines.Drive governance, reporting, and risk management processes across the programme.Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, including board-level executives.Facilitate decision-making through clear communication, structured planning, and proactive issue resolution.Support resource planning, prioritisation, and benefits realisation tracking.Ensure effective stakeholder engagement and communication across all levels of the organisation.Contribute to continuous improvement of project delivery frameworks and methodologies.Key Requirements:Proven experience as a Programme or Portfolio Manager, ideally in both public and private sector environments.Strong understanding of project and programme governance, delivery methodologies (e.g., Agile, PRINCE2), and portfolio management best practices.Demonstrated ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders, including board-level executives.Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.Comfortable working in a fractional capacity, managing time and priorities effectively across multiple initiatives.Availability to work on-site in Luton or Northampton once per week.
