Payroll Officer Role at Reputable Accountancy PracticeFRS is recruiting a Payroll Officer for a reputable accountancy practice based in Coventry. This role will work alongside the Payroll Manager and be responsible for the timely and accurate processing of a portfolio of clients across weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payroll runs. The suitable candidate will have previous experience working within an accountancy practice and familiarity with Iris and MS Excel. Key Duties Include:Preparation and administration of weekly, fortnightly, four-weekly, and monthly payrolls. Distribution of online payslips and documentation. Administration of PAYE and National Insurance deductions based on individual allowances. Handling mandatory deductions such as student loans, SSP, SMP, SAP, SPP, court orders, and other legislative responsibilities. Working knowledge of the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS), including subcontractor verifications, registrations, and monthly CIS returns and EPS submissions (preferred but not essential). Managing year-end RTI submissions, including final full payment summaries (FPS) and employee P60 forms. Ensuring all RTI submissions comply with HMRC regulations. Preparing and submitting Employment Payment Summaries (EPS) to reclaim statutory payments and CIS suffered, as well as paying the apprenticeship levy and claiming employment allowances. Preparing and submitting P11D benefits and expenses returns, including collating information on benefits such as cars, health insurance, and accommodation. Dealing with HMRC queries and correspondence. Setting up auto-enrollment pension schemes. Integrating payroll journal information.
