This role will manage the Pet product assortment, providing the best selection of items for their UK consumers at the best price. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and managing supplier relationships to ensure the best products are offered to customers. This role offers a unique opportunity to build and shape category strategies and contribute to the growth of a new and dynamic e-commerce business.Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement sales strategies, including pricing, promotions, and campaigns.Analyse metrics to identify sourcing gaps and improve supplier and category performance.Negotiate and manage supplier relationships, ensuring cost efficiency, validated fees, and accurate data.Select and curate products that match consumer demand and usage needs.Coordinate with international supply chain teams to secure resources and support.Review sales and procurement data to identify trends and improve gross margins.Collaborate with regional/local teams to roll out strategies effectively.ABOUT CANDIDATEAs the Senior Category Manager on Pet you will lead purchasing and sales for the category. You will drive business development by onboarding leading brands and suppliers and manage inventory to maintain optimal stock levels.Experience required:Merchandising or buying experience within Pet (Dog, Cat, Small Animal - Food/Treats/Accessories) or related categories.Deep understanding of consumers, with strong market insights and proven purchasing expertise.Established supplier relationships within the FMCG network in the UK.Exceptional analytical abilities, data sensitivity, and logical thinking.Effective communicator with a passion for continuous learning.Highly driven, innovative, team-oriented, and committed to aligning personal contributions with organisational goals.ABOUT THE COMPANYA new to UK e-commerce business with ambitious and rapid growth plans.
