The OpportunityOur client, a highly successful and growing events catering company based in London, renowned for delivering world-class culinary experiences across prestigious UK venues and events, is seeking a commercially astute and hands-on Head of Finance. This role will lead the finance function and act as a strategic business partner to the Founder and Managing Director. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced finance professional looking to make a real impact in a fast-paced, creative industry.The Role As Head of Finance, you will be responsible for managing and delivering the finance function, ensuring the company’s financial performance is well-managed, data-driven, and aligned with its ambitious growth plans across the UK and Europe. You will be a critical member of the senior leadership team.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Control & ReportingOwn the preparation of monthly management accounts, including comprehensive variance analysisEnsure balance sheet reconciliations and provisions are accurate and up to dateLead the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timelinessPrepare and submit VAT, PAYE, and corporation tax provisions in compliance with current legislationTrack and benchmark KPIs; investigate significant variancesStrategic Financial SupportCollaborate with the Founder and MD to shape the company’s strategic financial directionSupport business planning with forecasts, cash flow projections, and margin analysisProvide financial modelling for investment, expansion, and cost-saving initiativesBusiness Partnering & Stakeholder EngagementAct as a key advisor to the senior team, ensuring financial decisions are data-drivenCommunicate effectively with internal stakeholders across operations, sales, and eventsPresent financial reports and recommendations to leadership with clarity and commercial insightThe Candidate The ideal candidate will be ACMA, ACA, or ACCA qualified, confident in working with a range of cloud accounting software and apps, with experience using Xero and Dext Prepare. Previous experience in a senior finance role within the hospitality, events, or catering industry is essential.
