Lead Engineer (React + Node) - £90K - Hybrid, LondonAfter achieving a £1m grant from Innovate UK, an impressive start-up that is transforming portfolio management, by streamlining data collection and enhancing collaboration between investors and their portfolio companies, are looking for a Fullstack Engineer to join their small but growing team of 13.The ideal candidate will have 5-6+ years' experience with a strong technical foundation, combined with a business and product-focused mindset. You will be the second in command to the CTO and will have a tonne of autonomy and freedom to make technical decisions.You can either be a Lead already or a Senior with experience mentoring engineers + taking the lead on projects.Proficiency in NextJS (React), GraphQL, and TypeScript is required.Key Responsibilities:Design, develop, and maintain web applications using NextJS (React), GraphQL, and TypeScriptCollaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new featuresEnsure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designsParticipate in code reviews, pair programming, and collaborative development practicesTroubleshoot and debug issues to improve performance and reliabilityMentoring other engineersBeing the main person in charge when the CTO is unavailable/offQualifications:Experience in a Senior/Lead role with mentoring + project leadershipProven experience as a Software Engineer, particularly with NextJS (React), GraphQL, and TypeScriptStrong understanding of web development principles and best practices.Familiarity with modern software development practices, including agile methodologiesExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detailStrong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid environmentBonus points for:Experience in the finance or investment sectorsKnowledge of ESG data and reportingWhy to apply?Be part of a dynamic, fast-paced, and innovative start-up environmentWork with cutting-edge technologies and contribute to the future of portfolio managementCollaborate with a talented and passionate teamCompetitive salary and generous equityHybrid working arrangementIf you're a Senior/Lead Fullstack Engineer with strong experience using TS, React + Node and are looking for an exciting challenge in a growing start-up, then this could be a great option for you.
