Job Description

This position is responsible to meet the goals and objectives of the organization by acting as the the company Legal Counsel supporting the organization’s operations in Europe.Essential Duties and TasksTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made, upon request, to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Commercial transactions (commercial agreements, customer/supplier insolvency, etc.)-Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating a wide range of commercial documents, including supply, purchase, non-disclosure, service and energy, and joint development agreements.Corporate entity management-Lead the process on and manage the necessary secretarial, CRO, Companies House, etc. filings and governance procedures for company operations in the UK and Ireland and, as necessary, Germany and Switzerland.Competition-Advise and counsel on competition law aspects of agreements and company initiatives.M&A Integration-Advise and support harmonization and integration of company policies, practices, agreements, and operations.Trade Compliance-Provide counsel on import/export and other trade issues related to the company’s operations.Data privacy, including GDPR and related law compliance.ESG, anti-bribery/anti-corruption, modern slavery complianceAdvise on customer and supplier quality claims.Manage outside counsel.Working closely with the legal team, including VP Legal & Compliance, Corporate Paralegal, and Regulatory Compliance Manager, the HR team, including SVP Human Resources & Administration, and Director of HR Compliance, and the Sales, Procurement, Quality, and other teams.Qualifications, Education and ExperienceProfessional Qualification (Solicitor or international equivalent)8+ years of proven experience in role. Mix of in-house experience (min 2 years) and large law firm general corporate practice required.Manufacturing experience preferrable, Senior Accounting Officer and related accounting governance regulations experience preferred.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently on projects.Results-driven with a focus on meeting objectives and deadlines.Familiarity with the packaging industry or related is a plus.Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point), Visio, Teams, and Outlook.Maintains strict confidentiality and protects privacy of confidential/sensitive information.Exceptional time management and organization skills.Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously establishing priorities to meet deadlines.Proactive; exercises sound judgment and decision making; able to identify problems and needs and develop solutions and/or options.Self-confident, self-motivated polished professional who thrives in a challenging, fast-paced environment.
