Job Description

SHIFT Active Media is looking for a Senior Media Manager to lead the strategic planning and delivery of media campaigns for our global client base in the cycling, outdoor, and active lifestyle industries. This senior role is focused on translating client goals into effective media strategies and collaborating closely with Media Managers to drive performance. You will be required in the office, in Bath 3 days a week. You’ll own the media planning process across paid media channels, which includes responsibility for recommending budget allocations, channel mix, and campaign performance. You’ll also lead the negotiation of advertising and branded content partnerships with specialist cycling media brands. While not hands-on in the platforms, you’ll work closely with channel specialists to interpret performance data and refine strategies based on results.ResponsibilitiesMedia Strategy & PlanningLead the development of integrated media plans aligned to client objectives – from awareness and engagement to conversion.Recommend optimal channel mix, flighting, and investment levels across Meta, Google, YouTube, and endemic media.Plan and negotiate strategic media and branded content partnerships with specialist cycling publishers and media brands.Performance Management & OptimisationCollaborate with Media Managers to review campaign performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and impact.Translate data and performance insights into clear strategic actions and media plan adjustments.Maintain an up-to-date understanding of each client’s KPIs, media budgets, and delivery status.Client & Team LeadershipAct as a strategic media lead across assigned client accounts, advising on planning decisions and media innovation.Serve as a key client contact for media planning conversations and performance reviews.Support and mentor junior team members to develop their strategic thinking and commercial confidence.Innovation & InsightStay informed on platform developments, privacy shifts, and audience trends to ensure plans reflect the evolving media landscape.Champion innovation in media thinking and partnership development within the agency.About you:3+ years of experience in media strategy and planning, ideally within an agency or fast-paced client-side environmentStrong understanding of paid media channels, including Meta, Google Ads, YouTube and Specialist Media.Commercially minded with experience negotiating media buys, branded content partnerships, or sponsorships.Comfortable interpreting media performance reports and turning insights into strategy.Clear and confident communicator, with strong client-facing and presentation skills.A passion for cycling, sport, or the outdoors is a bonus.DO NOT APPLY VIA LINKEDINThink you'd be a good fit so far?
