Job Description

We are looking for a highly organized and proactive Senior Technical Buyer to join our specialised team at CALLUM; focused on small series production, show car builds & many other exciting fields. This role combines strategic sourcing with hands-on management to deliver high-quality, cost effective, on-time limited-run product commissions. You will manage procurement activities end-to-end from concept - through to delivery. Ensuring all parts, materials & services meet bespoke specifications, aggressive lead times, and premium quality standards. Responsibilities Lead end-to-end purchasing activities for low-volume automotive projects including show cars, concept vehicles, and exclusive small series builds. Possess a strong technical background in order to converse confidently between suppliers and Engineering/Operation departments. Source and develop niche suppliers capable of meeting highly customized and time-critical requirements. Work with Programme Management team to collaboratively build timing plans and release schedules & maintain plans in order to meet project deliverables. Work with the companys Finance Department to align external commitment/terms to company revenue as well as managing the companys risk. Collaborate closely with engineering, design, and fabrication teams to align procurement strategy with creative and technical goals. Manage RFQs, cost analysis, supplier selection, and contracting for a wide range of components and materials, including one-off and hand-built parts. Monitor critical timelines and ensure delivery of parts to support tight prototype build schedules. Act as the main purchasing contact for project teams, managing updates, risks, and contingency planning. Maintain up-to-date BOM costing and support the budgeting process with real-time cost data. Drive cost, quality, and lead time improvements while balancing the unique demands of design-focused, low-volume projects. Work with Business Development team, contributing accurate cost information to enhance estimates and subsequent quote accuracy. Ensure compliance with project, quality, and documentation standards. Preferred Attributes Background in automotive, concept vehicle or motorsport project environments. Familiarity with design-intent prototyping, CMF (Colour, Material, Finish) sourcing, and boutique craftsmanship. Strong attention to detail & wealth of experience in project management. Experience with one-off or short-run part procurement, including 3D printing, CNC machining, and custom interiors. Understanding NPI processes and procedures. Ability to address issues as they arise, and both make and drive decisions
