The successful candidate will have proven experience in handling abnormal loads, with strong route planning and problem-solving abilities, and will demonstrate a professional attitude when representing the company both on the road and on-site.Main Duties & Responsibilities (but not limited to):Operate STGO Category 3 articulated units with a range of specialised trailers, including beam trailers, interdollys and jeep dollys for the movement of large abnormal loads up to 140 tonsTransport heavy plant and machinery, including large dozers, compactors, excavators and reach stackers, often exceeding 70 tonnes in weightUnderstand abnormal load notifications and be able to follow preplanned routes in accordance with STGO and abnormal load regulations, including liaising with private and police escorts where requiredConduct safe and efficient loading and unloading of plant and equipment using appropriate loading methods and ensuring loads are secure for transportLiaise with site teams, and clients to ensure safe access, egress, and load positioning on-siteCarry out vehicle checks, trailer inspections, and ensure compliance with DVSA regulations and company policiesEnsure accurate completion of all delivery paperwork and tachograph records.Maintain a high standard of vehicle cleanliness, presentation, and operational readinessRequirements:Minimum of 2 years experience operating STGO CAT 3 low loader vehiclesProven experience working with abnormal loads exceeding 70 tonnesCompetence in handling large construction plant for loading and securingFull UK HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence with valid CPC and Digital Tachograph cardUnderstanding of STGO regulations, abnormal load movements, and heavy plant transport logisticsStrong problem-solving skills with the ability to assess and adapt to complex or changing load and route conditionsA proactive and flexible attitude with a strong commitment to health and safetyKnowledge of mechanical loading/unloading principles and trailer operationDesirable not essential:CPCS loader securer ADR with tanksJob Types: Full-time, PermanentPotential Start Date: Immediate startSchedule: Monday to Friday (occasional weekend or night working depending on job requirements)Expected Hours: No less than 40 hours per weekBenefits:Competitive payGovernment Company Pension28 days holiday (including bank holidays)UniformTrainingHealth Assured Programme Work Location: Travel nationwide, starting from our Ripley SiteJob Reference upon enquiry:Experienced STGO Cat 3 Low Loader Driver
