Our client is currently looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead automation projects within the Trim and Final Assembly sector. This position plays a key role in delivering complex engineering solutions for their customers across the UK, particularly within environments where robotics and industrial automation are central. From initial enquiry through to project completion, youll be responsible for ensuring every phase runs smoothly, on time, on budget, and to specification.Apply promptly! Alternatively you will have strong Project Management experience for a System Integrator or Automotive or OEM.Key Responsibilities Take ownership of full project lifecycles, from scoping and quoting to handover and sign-off Act as the main point of contact for customers and suppliers, ensuring alignment of expectations and outcomes Identify project risks early and put mitigation strategies in place to avoid delays or cost overruns Develop and maintain detailed project plans using MS Project, reporting regularly on progress and key milestones Coordinate internal and external teams, promoting collaboration and accountability across all disciplines Maintain up-to-date project documentation and issue clear weekly reports to internal stakeholders and customers Build and nurture client relationships to support long-term partnerships Provide technical oversight, ensuring that all aspects of the project meet quality and compliance standards Ensure health and safety standards are adhered to at all times on site and during project deliveryWhat Theyre Looking For Proven track record in project management within the industrial automation sector (minimum 3 years) Strong knowledge of control systems, PLCs, and robotics, with experience in projects involving multiple robotic systems Practical experience in Trim and Final Assembly, as well as familiarity with Closures, Paint, or Battery systems is advantageous Experience managing automotive Body in White projects (BIW) Confident in quoting, managing project variations, and maintaining cost control throughout the lifecycle Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, especially MS Project Willing and able to travel across the UK, with regular presence at their Birmingham office Full, clean UK driving licence is essentialIf youre a proactive, technically-minded project manager with a passion for delivering high-quality automation solutions, this could be the ideal role for you.
