Associate General Counsel London, UKWe are working with international and US law firms who are actively seeking legal professionals with strong Conflicts and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) experience to move into, or laterally transition into, General Counsel roles.These firms are looking for individuals who can serve as key advisors on complex conflict clearances and ethical, reputational and regulatory matters. You will act as a crucial bridge between compliance and legal operations, working closely with new business intake teams, firm leadership and partners across multiple jurisdictions.Key Responsibilities:Act as a senior escalation point for conflict of interest issues, AML compliance and reputational risk assessments relating to new clients and mattersProvide strategic, ethical and regulatory advice directly to partners and senior stakeholdersTrain and support new business intake teams across global offices.Collaborate on enhancements to new matter intake systems and compliance frameworksTranslate complex regulatory and conflict issues into actionable guidance for transactional lawyersAnticipate legal and operational risks, support firm strategy and promote a high performance and inclusive cultureIdeal Candidate Profile:Qualified to practise in England and Wales and or New York StateMinimum Four years of experience, including at least two years post qualification experience at a major international or national firmDeep expertise in legal conflicts, AML regulations and professional conduct rules, particularly in the UK and USExperience using systems such as Intapp Open, along with strong Microsoft Office proficiencyProven ability to communicate legal complexity in a clear, commercial mannerDemonstrated leadership in navigating risk, supporting firm strategy and promoting team developmentStrong project management skills and the ability to work across cross functional and cross border teamsWhat These Firms Offer:High visibility and strategic influence within the General Counsel functionDirect engagement with partners and firm leadership across international officesCompetitive compensation and benefits tailored to your career stage and lifestyle needsA strong commitment to diversity, inclusion and professional developmentIf you are currently in a Conflicts or AML role within a law firm and looking to take the next step into a broader and more strategic legal advisory position, this could be the ideal opportunity to make that move.
