Shipping & Marine Insurance Associate (1–7 PQE)Top-Tier National Firm | London Office | Hybrid Working | Marine & Shipping FocusOur client, a leading national firm with a top-tier marine practice, is looking to hire a talented and ambitious Shipping & Marine Insurance Litigation Associate to join their dynamic London team.This is a fantastic opportunity to work at the cutting edge of marine law – acting for insurers, shipowners, charterers, brokers, and financial institutions – and to contribute meaningfully to a broad range of both wet and dry shipping disputes and marine insurance claims.The Role:You will play a key role in supporting a highly ranked practice on a diverse portfolio of high-value, complex marine matters, including:Assisting in the management of marine insurance claims across a range of classes – including hull, cargo, war risks, marine liability, yacht insurance, and mortgagee’s interest insuranceHandling wet claims (including salvage, collision, grounding, and general average)Working on dry shipping disputes, including charterparty issues, ship sale and purchase, shipbuilding, and MOA disputesAdvising on coverage, managing defence and subrogation claims on behalf of leading marine insurers and reinsurersAttending industry events and contributing to business development activities alongside partnersWhat We're Looking For:Essential:Associate-level experience at a recognised shipping or insurance law firmStrong technical grounding in marine insurance law and claims handlingDirect experience working on both wet and dry shipping disputesFamiliarity with LMAA arbitration and court litigation proceduresA confident, commercially-minded lawyer who is comfortable managing matters with autonomy and collaborating in a team settingDesirable:Interest in and/or experience with emergency response work and marine casualty investigationsSome experience in policy drafting or wording reviewsStrong client-facing skills and a willingness to be involved in the business development side of the practiceWhat’s on Offer:The chance to join a Chambers-ranked team with a national and international reputation for excellence in marine lawVaried, high-calibre work with significant client contactA strong platform for career development and promotionFlexible, hybrid working model and supportive team cultureCompetitive salary and benefits packageIf you would like to be considered please send your CV to charlotte.pember@#ShippingLaw #MarineLaw #DryShipping #ShippingLitigation #LMAA #LondonLawJobs #MarineDisputes #PQEJobs #LegalCareers #BoutiqueLawFirm #LitigationJobs
