Job Title: Field Service Engineer – Robotics & MechatronicsLocation: Remote (with travel across the UK & Ireland)Employment Type: Full-time, PermanentOverview:Join a well-established, innovative leader in the field of advanced packaging automation. This global company is renowned for delivering cutting-edge robotic and mechatronic solutions to some of the world’s leading manufacturers. As part of their ongoing growth, they are seeking a highly motivated Field Service Engineer to join their UK-based team.This is a remote position with frequent travel across the UK and Ireland, supporting a wide range of high-tech robotic machinery and automation systems.Key Responsibilities:Install, commission, troubleshoot, and maintain sophisticated robotic equipment including pick-and-place systems, tray loaders, case erectors, flow-wrappers, sealing machinery, and thermoforming applications.Diagnose and repair complex systems involving PLCs, servo drives, PC-based controls, mechanical components, and pneumatics.Provide proactive and reactive service support at customer sites, ensuring optimal performance of automation equipment.Deliver training to customer operators and maintenance personnel on the proper use and upkeep of equipment.Act as a trusted technical advisor by identifying opportunities for improvement, upgrades, or additional solutions, and communicating these to the technical management team.Maintain strong, professional relationships with customer contacts to ensure high levels of satisfaction and support.Represent the company with professionalism, delivering clear and effective communication in all client interactions.Participate in occasional overseas training and support visits, primarily to the company’s headquarters in Germany.Skills & Experience Required:A background in Mechatronics, Electronics, or a related field.A minimum of 3 years’ hands-on experience in the service or manufacturing of packaging machinery or automation systems.Experience with robotic systems is highly desirable.Solid working knowledge of servo drives, PLCs, and PC-based control systems.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a passion for technical troubleshooting.Ability to work independently while being a collaborative team player.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Customer-focused mindset with the ability to build strong rapport on-site.Flexible and adaptable approach to new challenges and technologies.Innovative thinker who enjoys solving complex problems and contributing ideas.Full, clean UK driving licence and eligibility to work and travel within the UK and Europe.What’s in it for you?Work with a globally respected technology leaderBe part of a forward-thinking and supportive teamOpportunities for professional growth and international exposure
