This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly respected team.Key Responsibilities of the Monitoring Officer and Head of Democratic and Electoral Services include:The organisation and management of the democratic and electoral functions of the local authorityTo take an active role in delivering Corporate and Service Specific Policies and StrategiesTo work in collaboration with the local authority's services as well as public, private, and third sector partnersTo ensure the local authority's Corporate Plan is delivered to maximum potentialDealing with member complaintsAttending full cabinet meetingsKey Skills and Experience of the Monitoring Officer and Head of Democratic and Electoral Services :Significant experience leading a democratic and/or elections servicePrevious experience working as a Monitoring OfficerPrevious experience working in the public sector/local authoritiesPrevious experience working in a political environment, understanding political processes and competently managing politically sensitive issuesExperience planning, delivering, and managing projectsSignificant understanding of legislation and standards relevant to Electoral and Democratic processesEfficient leadership and management skillsAbility to analyse and present complex information to a wide audienceOur client is offering hybrid working with one day a week in the office, however they can be flexible for the right candidate.If you would like to have a confidential chat about this role then please contact Sara Robinson in our Manchester office.
