This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong aerospace or mechanical background to step into a critical role within a high-performing MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul) environment.What you'll be doing:As an Inspector, youll be responsible for the detailed inspection of aircraft components in accordance with OEM CMMs (Component Maintenance Manuals) and SOPMs (Standard Operating Procedures & Manuals). Youll utilize SAP to record component condition, generate cost-effective overhaul or repair route sheets, and ensure all part numbers (P/N), serial numbers (S/N), and status details are accurately entered into the system.Youll support the production team by working to ASPEN and milestone priorities, collaborating with Technical Engineering and other shop-floor teams. Youll also contribute to mentoring junior technicians and maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.Key responsibilities:Perform detailed mechanical inspections of aerospace components (excluding quarantined items)Create/modify overhaul and repair routes using SAP ERPRecord all inspection data and part conditions accuratelyUse imperial and metric precision tools (micrometres, callipers, gauges)Liaise with engineering and production control to support turnaround targetsSupport compliance with HSE, MAPP, and Environmental ProceduresMaintain a Personal Experience Record (PER) book and take part in daily team dialoguesWhat we're looking for:Apprenticeship or formal qualification in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering (desirable)Previous experience in a component inspection or aerospace MRO environmentProficient in SAP or similar enterprise systemsSkilled in manual measurement techniques and use of inspection equipmentGood working knowledge of aviation documentation (e.g., Boeing/Airbus portals)Strong attention to detail and workshop housekeeping disciplineEligible to live and work in the UK unrestrictedGood unaided (or corrected) vision and ability to sit or lift as neededWorking conditions:Full-time, permanent role with shift options: MondayFriday or TuesdaySaturdayOccasional overtime may be requiredTemperature-variant workshop environment with machinery noise exposureThis is a great opportunity to advance your career in aerospace inspection within a well-established and globally respected organisation.
