This is a general histopathology post, with opportunities to develop subspecialty interests. The successful candidate will contribute to diagnostic reporting, multidisciplinary team meetings, teaching, and service development.RequirementsFull registration and licence to practise with the GMC and be on the Specialist Register in Histopathology (or be eligible for registration within six months of interview).Applicants that are UK trained must also be a holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview.FRCPath (part 1 and part 2).Typical Job PlanA standard job plan includes:10 Programmed Activities (PAs) per week (8.5 DCC / 1.5 SPA)Diagnostic reporting of surgical pathology and cytology specimensParticipation in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetingsSupervision and training of junior medical staff and biomedical scientistsContribution to clinical governance, audits, and quality assuranceInvolvement in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate studentsSupport for digital pathology initiatives and service innovationAbout the Department: The Histopathology Department is a dynamic and forward-thinking unit, currently embracing digital pathology for primary diagnostics.
