Job Description BuyerAny additional information you require for this job can be found in the below text Make sure to read thoroughly, then apply.The Role:Reporting to the Group Purchasing Manager you will have experience in buying various products in a fast-moving environment whilst ensuring that stock levels are maintained at the best price and quality to meet customer demand.Key duties:Directly support the purchasing team with day-to-day procurement activities.Ensure that purchasing activities are carried out in a timely and cost-effective manner.Be commercially aware of the wider implications of:oStock levelsoPrice changesoFreight costsMaintain cost effective stock levels whilst minimising shortages.Actively seek to reduce stock holding and material costs.Adhere to daily procurement disciplines in line with system requirements.Work closely with production planning to ensure manufacturing resources are in place to deliver orders as requiredDevelop and maintain an in-depth understanding of product categories.Liaise effectively with customer service and warehouse teams to address stock issues, customer complaints, and supplier concerns.Support the import of goods into the UK, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.Develop and maintain good working relationships with key suppliers, negotiating favourable terms.Identify slow and excess stock and work with the team to create a plan to resolve.Key Relationships:All members of the Buying TeamCustomer service teamsProduction planningAccounts receivable TeamWarehouse staffThe successful applicant will have:Minimum 5 years buying experience in a fast-moving customer focused environmentExcellent communication and negotiation skills.
