Quality Assurance ManagerPlease make sure you read the following details carefully before making any applications.Salary: up to 35,000 per year + company benefitsLocation: LeedsHours: Monday to Friday, no weekendsThe OpportunityAs Quality Assurance Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring that all products meet UK legal, safety and customer-specific standards for our client. Working cross-functionally with Product Development, Quality Control, Purchasing and Compliance, youll oversee regulatory requirements, support third-party certifications and ensure our clients Quality Management System is audit-ready and continuously improving.Key Responsibilities:Ensure company-wide compliance with UK product safety and chemical regulations including UKCA marking, Furniture & Furnishings Regulations (BS 7177), REACH and Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs)Support the creation and maintenance of all technical documentation related to mattresses, divans and headboards, ensuring products remain compliant throughout their lifecycleLead the implementation of customer-specific compliance standards (e.g. DFS, John Lewis, Dreams) into product development and QA processesMaintain up-to-date testing schedules, declarations of compliance and ensure accurate and timely data submission through customer portalsGuarantee that labelling and technical data align precisely with client and market specificationsSupport and maintain compliance with third-party schemes, including National Bed Federation (NBF) accreditationAssist in the ongoing implementation of ISO 14001, ensuring product-level sustainability and environmental claims are accurate and substantiatedAct as the lead contact for all external audits, ensuring audit readiness across the businessMaintain, improve and document the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure continual ISO 9001 certification and complianceIdentify and implement continuous improvement initiatives based on audit findings and internal reviewsCollaborate daily with the Head of Compliance, New Product Development, Quality Assurance, Purchasing, and Production teamsProvide regulatory and technical input during critical path reviews, product changes, and new product development stagesParticipate in change control assessments, evaluating the compliance impact of proposed material or component changes.Key Skills & Qualifications:In-depth knowledge of UK product regulations and major UK retailer standardsProven experience in a quality, compliance or technical role, ideally within mattress manufacturing or a related industryFamiliarity with ISO 9001 QMS and experience with ISO 14001 and environmental or sustainability complianceUnderstanding of European legislation such as the EU General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR)Experience working with NBF standards is advantageousStrong communication skills; confident liaising with external auditors and retail clientsExcellent attention to detail, highly organised and process-drivenPersonal Attributes:Hungry Self-motivated and committed to doing great work, with a strong sense of responsibility and ownershipSmart Listens actively, engages constructively with others and asks thoughtful questionsHumble Values team success over personal recognition, shares credit and builds trust through collaborationWhat Our Client Offers:Competitive salary of up to 35,000 (dependent on experience)Life assuranceWellbeing initiatives, including a dedicated wellbeing dayIncremental holiday allowance based on serviceGenerous staff discounts on productsComprehensive pension schemeOngoing training and professional development opportunitiesNext StepsThis is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially driven QA professional looking to join a forward-thinking and values-led manufacturer with a strong presence and a commitment to sustainability and innovation.If the above information sounds of interest, please click apply and a member of our recruitment team will be in touch with you soon to discuss your application further.
