General Mate Location: Thatcham, Berkshire Salary: 16.369 - 32.34 per hour Our client is seeking a reliable and hard-working General Mate to assist skilled tradespeople and site teams with day-to-day operations. This is a hands-on role involving manual labour, material handling, and general site duties. The ideal candidate will be physically fit, safety-conscious, and willing to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. The Role Assist tradespeople with basic tasks across the site (e.g. lifting, carrying, holding tools) Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment. Keep work areas clean, tidy, and hazard-free. Move materials and supplies to required locations. Help set up and take down temporary structures and equipment. Follow instructions from supervisors and team leaders. Adhere to all site health and safety regulations. Perform other general duties as required to support the smooth running of the site. Skills and Qualifications Essential: Good physical fitness and stamina. Positive attitude and willingness to work hard. Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team. Basic awareness of site safety rules. Punctual, dependable, and respectful of site procedures. Desirable: Previous experience in a general labour or construction role. Valid CSCS card (or willingness to obtain). Driving licence (preferred but not essential).
