My client based in Lichfield is currently recruiting for an experienced Customs Broker to join their team on a temp to perm basis working Monday-Friday 09:00-17:30 office based, can go hybrid once probation is passed They are a leading logistics and supply chain management company specialising in delivering efficient and innovative transportation solutions. With a strong focus on customer service and compliance, they aim to streamline supply chain operations while adhering to the latest industry standards and regulations. Position Summary: As a Customs Broker, you will play a critical role in ensuring the seamless movement of goods across international borders by managing customs clearance processes. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable customs regulations, building strong client relationships, and providing expert guidance on import/export procedures. Key Responsibilities: Customs Compliance: Prepare and process import/export documentation in compliance with international customs regulations. Ensure all declarations are accurate and submitted in a timely manner. Monitor changes in customs laws, trade agreements, and tariffs, advising clients and internal teams accordingly. Client Support Serve as a point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries and providing tailored solutions to facilitate customs clearance. Collaborate with clients to gather necessary documentation and ensure proper classification of goods. Offer guidance on customs procedures, duties, taxes, and trade regulations. Operational Efficiency Work closely with internal teams to coordinate transportation and ensure seamless delivery of goods. Optimise customs clearance processes to reduce delays and costs. Maintain detailed records of transactions and ensure data integrity in compliance systems Problem Solving Resolve any customs-related issues or disputes promptly. Liaise with customs authorities and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and address challenges. Qualifications and Skills: Proven experience as a customs broker or in a similar role in the logistics industry. Thorough knowledge of customs regulations, procedures, and trade compliance. Proficiency in customs software and systems, such as CHIEF/CDS (or equivalent). Strong attention to detail and organisational skills. Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
