The role offers hybrid working (3 days from home), a generous salary up to £64,000, University Pension, and 35 days holiday (pro-rata).Description The Head of Finance is responsible for:Management Accounting & BudgetingLead a team of 2 in delivering management accounting support across legal entities and joint ventures.Monitor financial performance against budgets, explain variances, and recommend corrective actions.Support forward planning and budgeting, providing financial advice to senior management.Coordinate with Company Secretaries to inform Boards on financial matters, including preparing papers and recommendations.Financial ReportingOversee the preparation of annual financial statements.Coordinate audits and liaise with auditors.Group ReportingProvide financial data for group consolidation monthly, quarterly, and annually.Make adjustments for reporting standards and reconcile intercompany balances.Tax ComplianceEnsure VAT submissions are accurate and timely.Prepare draft corporation tax returns and liaise with tax teams.Monitor tax reporting accuracy and lead related communications and training.Process Oversight & ComplianceEnsure compliance with financial regulations.Establish financial systems for new entities.Oversee daily activities, review work, and train junior staff.Profile This role suits aqualified accountantwith experience in a large, complex organization, such as a Financial Controller, Divisional Finance Director, or Head of Finance. Experience in the private/public sector is essential. Fully qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA). Team management experience is required. Experience managing multiple legal entities is desirable.Job Details Hybrid working: 2 days in the office, 3 days from home. Located in central Oxford; candidates should be able to commute by train or Park & Ride, as parking is unavailable.Offer Contract role, salary £60,000 - £63,000, with excellent pension and generous annual leave. Duration: 6 months.
