Proposal Engineer Location: Sheffield Salary: 50,000 55,000 (Depending on Experience) Type: Full-Time, Permanent Overview: We are looking for an experienced Proposal Engineer to join our team in Sheffield. This is a fantastic opportunity offering clear career progression to Bid Manager. You'll play a key role in managing and delivering competitive proposals, tenders, and bids for low-voltage (LV) electrical projects. Working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, you'll help us secure new contracts and drive business growth. Key Responsibilities: Lead proposal submissions manage the full proposal lifecycle, including technical queries, document preparation, and deadline tracking. Prepare PQQs and tenders ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with client requirements. Develop commercial proposals create costed bids with input from engineering, procurement, and commercial teams. Support sales assist in building strong client proposals and identifying opportunities. Collaborate with teams work cross-functionally to improve competitiveness and efficiency. Manage risk & compliance ensure proposals meet health 'safety, legal, and company standards. Build relationships liaise with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to support successful proposals. Maintain records keep accurate logs of proposal activity, versions, and communications. Drive improvements contribute to better proposal processes and higher win rates. Requirements: Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering Strong understanding of LV Electrical systems Background in project-based environments Proven experience in proposals, tenders, or bids Excellent communication and document writing skills Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel & Word) Strong attention to detail and organisation Proactive and problem-solving mindset Why Apply?
