Job Title: Senior Commercial Manager Tier One Contractor (TRU West)Location: York or Leeds (Hybrid Working Available)Project: Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) Western SectionEmployment Type: Full-Time, PermanentAbout the Role: We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Commercial Manager to join our team on the high-profile Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) Western Section. This is a unique opportunity to work as part of a collaborative alliance delivery model, contributing to a major UK rail infrastructure programme that will transform connectivity across the North.As Senior Commercial Manager, you will play a key leadership role, managing a commercial team of 20 professionals and reporting directly into the project leadership team. Youll be instrumental in driving commercial strategy, ensuring robust contract management, and delivering best value across all phases of the programme.Key Responsibilities:Lead and develop a high-performing commercial team across the TRU Western section.Oversee the administration of key contracts and ensure compliance with alliance commercial principles.Drive value through effective cost control, risk management, and contract negotiation.Collaborate closely with delivery, procurement, and finance teams to ensure commercial goals align with overall project strategy.Produce detailed commercial reports and provide expert advice to senior stakeholders.Identify and manage commercial risks, ensuring early resolution of issues.Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the alliance structure.About You:Proven experience in a senior commercial management role, ideally within rail, infrastructure, or major civil engineering projects.Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and alliance/partnering frameworks.Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative project environment.Relevant qualifications (e.g. RICS, degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or similar) are highly desirable.This could suit a CM ready to step up.Location: Based in either York or Leeds, with flexible working arrangements available.Why Join Us?Work with a top-tier contractor on one of the UK's most significant rail infrastructure programmes.Be part of a collaborative alliance committed to innovation and long-term legacy.Competitive salary and benefits package.Strong opportunities for career progression and professional development.
