The Role Youll take ownership of payroll operations for 400+ employees across 9 countries, ensuring processes are efficient, compliant, and consistently aligned with global standards. You will also be instrumental in shaping and implementing global payroll strategy, systems, and compliance frameworks, working in collaboration with regional HR, Finance, and third-party vendors. Key Responsibilities: Manage the full international payroll cycle for 400+ employees across 9 countries, ensuring compliance with all local tax, labour, and statutory regulations. Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of payroll processes, controls and reporting structures. Liaise with regional HR and Finance teams to validate and approve payroll data; resolve discrepancies swiftly and accurately. Stay abreast of global payroll legislation, social security requirements, and tax policies; implement necessary changes to ensure ongoing compliance. Manage relationships with international payroll providers and local government authorities. Produce detailed payroll reports and analytics to inform senior leadership decisions. Oversee reconciliations, audits, and the intercompany transfer of payroll costs. Lead payroll elements of mergers, acquisitions, and business integrations. Drive automation, process improvement, and standardisation initiatives across regions. Support year-end statutory reporting, bonus processing, and employee queries with discretion and professionalism. About You Demonstrable experience managing multi-country payroll within a complex, fast-paced environment. Experience managing a small team Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or an equivalent international certification (advantageous). In-depth knowledge of international payroll compliance, laws, and best practices. Experience with payroll technology platforms and working with third-party vendors (ideally experience with ADP) A confident leader with excellent interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Strong organisational skills, able to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines. High emotional intelligence, with the ability to handle confidential information sensitively.
