About the RoleApply below after reading through all the details and supporting information regarding this job opportunity.An innovative biotechnology team working on next-generation wide-area pathogen sensors is seeking a Molecular Biology Laboratory Technician to support critical research and development in public health and CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear) detection.This hands-on role is key to the daily operations of the biology lab, supporting cutting-edge genomic and molecular biology research. Youll work closely with scientists and engineers, helping prepare reagents, maintain equipment, assist with protocol implementation, and ensure the lab runs efficiently.Key ResponsibilitiesManage day-to-day laboratory operations, including reagent prep and instrument maintenanceMaintain laboratory inventory, including consumables and equipment calibration logsFollow protocols for molecular and microbiological procedures under supervisionSupport both biology and engineering teams with cross-disciplinary needsKeep detailed and accurate records of lab procedures and outcomesCommunicate clearly with a diverse team of scientists and technical staffEssential Skills & ExperienceAt least 1 year of hands-on lab experience (industry or academic)Familiarity with good laboratory practices (GLP) and aseptic techniqueComfortable preparing media, solutions, and buffersProficient in Microsoft Office and basic data entryStrong verbal communication and ability to follow instructions accuratelyDesirableBSc or equivalent in a Biological Science disciplineExperience in writing SOPs, COSHH assessments, and lab documentationExperience with instrument calibration (e.g., PCR machines, pH meters)Familiar with stock management and lab book documentationWho You AreHighly organized with excellent time management skillsAdaptable, detail-oriented, and proactive in a dynamic environmentCollaborative with a can-do attitude, able to work with diverse teamsWilling to learn new techniques and adapt to evolving protocols
