The appointed candidate will play a critical role in shaping and delivering the strategic and commercial future of the business and function as a business partner to the Group CEO and Executive Board.The OpportunityAs a key member of the Board, the Group Operations & Compliance Director will assume full responsibility for the operational performance of the business, alongside corporate governance, legal oversight, and risk management. This appointment demands an experienced, commercially astute executive that holds a legal qualification and has a proven track record of transformation, legal and regulatory leadership, and cross-functional management at Board level.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide strategic and operational leadership across core business functions including operations, finance, risk, and complianceStrengthen the companys governance frameworks, ensuring best practice in internal controls, policy development, and board-level reportingLead on legal and regulatory matters, including contractual governance, commercial compliance, and Company Secretarial dutiesDrive operational excellence and rigour throughout the groups support functions, providing mentorship to business unit managers Deliver operational excellence through process improvement, financial discipline, and performance managementAct as a key conduit between executive management and external stakeholders, including legal advisers, auditors, investors, and regulatory bodiesMentor and develop leadership teams, fostering a culture of accountability, high performance, and ethical leadershipCandidate ProfileLegally qualified background (or Qualified Chartered Accountant)with a strong foundation in operational leadership, and proven experience of working within contract management and financial framework remits at senior levelSubstantial experience working within dynamic, evolving organisationsideally including group structuresStrong governance and legal acumen, with direct experience in risk, compliance, and corporate legal responsibilitiesDemonstrated success in driving performance improvement, operational change, and sustainable growthConfident Board presence with excellent communication skills and commercial gravitasExperience across sectors such as construction, facilities management, outsourcing, or business services would be advantageousThis is a newly created role within the group and a critical appointment for a business as they enter an exciting new chapter of growth and development.
