Working as a Bodyshop Prepper / Vehicle Prepper youll be a key member of the Paint Shop operation where you'll be responsible for prepping vehicles prior to painting, ensuring every job meets the companys quality standards. DUTIES Your duties as the Bodyshop Prepper / Vehicle Prepper include: Expert Vehicle Preparation: Prepping vehicles prior to painting, including comprehensive sanding (wet and dry), effective degreasing, and precise feather edging to ensure optimal paint adhesion and a flawless finish Precision Masking: Executing accurate and efficient masking vehicles prior to painting, utilising a range of materials (tape, paper, film) to protect unpainted areas and create crisp, professional paint lines. This includes intricate trim masking and component protection Flawless Filler Application: Proficient filler work, including applying, shaping, and sanding body filler to repair minor dents, imperfections, and panel damage, achieving a smooth, seamless surface ready for primer Adherence to Quality Standards: Consistently ensuring that all work is carried out to the highest quality standards within the Bodyshop environment. This includes rigorous self-inspection and industry best practices for automotive refinishing General Bodyshop Support: Performing other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the Vehicle Preparation Centre , which may include assisting Paint Technicians, moving vehicles, or light stripping / fitting tasks as required Maintaining a Pristine Workspace: Proactively ensuring work areas and tools are kept tidy and in good working order. This involves daily cleaning, proper tool storage, and reporting any equipment faults to uphold health and safety standards Exemplary Housekeeping: Consistently maintain high standards of housekeeping across the paint shop and general bodyshop area, contributing to a safe, organised, and professional working environment for the entire repair team CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS Ideal candidates should be qualified to City and Guilds or NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Vehicle Repair or have previous commercial experience in the role Good communicative skills and ability to understand and carry out written and verbal instructions Time management, planning skills and problem-solving skills Prior experience of working to efficiency targets Systematic and organised; pays attention to the finer details Take pride and responsibility for your own appearance as well as the appearance and organisation of the site in which you work A full, valid UK driving licence is required HOW TO APPLY To be considered for this job vacancy, please submit your CV to our Recruitment Team who will review your details.
