Job Title: Service Manager Contract Type: Permanent Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday) Reports to: Head of Services Location: Bristol BS16 Salary : 30,283.50 Mission To empower older individuals within the justice system through advocacy, peer-led services, and targeted interventions that promote wellbeing, independence, resilience, and a sense of belonging throughout their journey. Purpose of the Role The Service Manager is responsible for leading a small on-site team and overseeing the delivery of a peer support programme designed to support individuals with health and social care needs in a secure environment. This dual-purpose role involves managing two Coordinators and leading the "Buddy Support Worker Programme"training individuals in national care standards (adapted for prison settings) so they can support others in their community. You will work closely with internal prison departments, healthcare providers, probation services, and third-sector agencies, while contributing to wider service development and strategic planning. Key Responsibilities 1. Service Delivery Ensure the wellbeing of participants is prioritised through person-centred, rights-based activities Monitor and maintain accurate records and reporting systems Oversee delivery of the peer-led support programme 3. Collaboration & Communication Work closely with prison staff, healthcare teams, and other stakeholders Promote team collaboration and uphold a strong work ethic Participate in regular meetings and professional development 4. Strategic Development Contribute to service innovation and development Represent the service externally and support business growth opportunities Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant policies and strategies 5.
