This is an exciting role for a driven individual who wants to work on a nationally significant and complex infrastructure project.You will focus on the passive fire protection scope, supporting the Project Manager and site teams across technical, planning, and coordination functions.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Support: Interpret drawings, specifications, and design data to provide guidance to site teams.Quality Assurance: Help implement quality procedures, ensuring work is delivered to high standards and in compliance with regulations.Programme Support: Assist in developing and maintaining project schedules, identify risks and support mitigation planning.Subcontractor Coordination: Work closely with subcontractors to ensure alignment with technical requirements and project timelines.Health & Safety: Promote a strong safety culture through regular inspections and contribution to risk assessments.Problem Solving: Proactively identify and resolve on-site technical challenges.Progress Reporting: Compile regular updates for the Project Manager covering achievements, risks, and next steps.Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate clear and professional communication with clients, consultants, and other project stakeholders.Skills & ExperienceDegree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.25 years' experience as a Project Engineer or Site Engineer on UK construction projects.Experience with passive fire protection is a plus, but not essential.Sound knowledge of UK construction methods and regulations.Competence in reading and interpreting technical drawings/specs.Proficiency with project planning tools (e.g., Primavera P6) is highly desirable.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Well-organised with a keen eye for detail and the ability to work autonomously or in a team.Full UK driving license and willingness to travel as needed.CSCS card holder (or equivalent).Eligible for or currently holding SC (Security Check) clearance or higher.Company informationAt First Recruitment Group we understand just how important it is to secure the right people.
