The Road Service Technician will be responsible for a company-owned service van and will be required to maintain the van and parts inventory it contains.Essential Job FunctionsIdentifying the general mechanical failure based on customer concern and testingCompleting the appropriate repairs in the safest and most efficient manner, then testing the equipment to ensure it is working properlyDriving to and from locations (i.e. customer sites, parts pickups, etc.) to address on-site needs of customersMaintaining company van by performing regular service work such as oil, tire and brake changes as well as ensuring overall cleanlinessMaintaining accurate inventory requirements by submitting proper documentation to the appropriate work order, noting the parts and coordinating with the parts department to retrieve replacements as neededCompleting each item on PM checklist, making sure all safety decals are legible and operator/safety manuals are present and legibleMaking necessary repairs (with customer approval) and other basic maintenance as neededProcessing the necessary documentation at the completion of each job, ensuring all parts are accounted for, time is properly documented and each repair is itemizedSubmitting completed documentation to the Service Coordinator in a timely fashionOther duties as assignedRequired Qualifications:Must be over the age of 18High school diploma or Technical Degree in automotive field or equivalent fieldA minimum of three (3) years of relevant mechanical, electrical and hydraulic experienceMust have a valid driver’s license and good driving recordPreferred Qualifications:Experience working on automotive or industrial equipmentCritical thinking and problem solving skillsAbility to work independentlyGood organizational, time management and customer service skillsAbility to work accurately and meet deadlinesHigh level of professionalism and the ability to follow upPositive and friendly attitude toward customers and fellow team membersAbility to follow directions both written and verballyAbility to use electronic devices for document submissionBasic computer skillsAbility to remain calm in stressful situationsWorking ConditionsPhysical requirements necessary include: constant standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling, with infrequent opportunities to sit.Must be able to lift or exert force up to 50 pounds with occasional need to lift or exert force in excess of 100 poundsWearing steel or composite toe shoes or boots during work hours are a requirement of this positionAbility to work in wet or humid conditions as well as extreme cold or heatOccasionally may be required to perform work in the evenings or on weekends#J-18808-Ljbffr
