Barhaugh Hall Activity Centre, near Alston, Cumbria is looking for a Morning Support Assistant to work 7 hours every week during term time only. Typical shifts would be working from 7.00am to 3.00pm - Wednesdays. This contract will involve working 36 Wednesdays throughout the year, generally in school term time, with 12 weeks off. Pay for Support Assistants at Barhaugh Hall is 13.00. This role involves assisting with meal supervision and cleaning around the centre, maintaining high standards of presentation throughout every aspect of the centre. Assisting with morning supervision of children. Reminding children of routines and liaising with other staff, recording information where appropriate. Providing support for groups of children between sessions. This may include helping with harnesses and helmet fitting, provision of waterproofs and other equipment, or other supervisory tasks. And providing support on sessions by fulfilling roles such as bottom of Zip Wire or lake cover. Actual shifts and duties carried out will be discussed and agreed with the centre manager prior to the job starting. Some previous work with children is useful, as well as excellent customer care skills and the ability to be positive, professional and supportive of others at all times. We take safeguarding very seriously and the successful applicants will need to complete an enhanced DBS check.
