Are you a skilled Estimator with a passion for precision and a knack for securing high-value contracts in aerospace and defence? Our valued client delivers precision-engineered solutions to aerospace and defence primes, with a commitment to excellence and continuous improvement. The Role: Were seeking an experienced Estimator to prepare accurate quotations, manage costs, and build strong relationships with clients and suppliers. Youll play a key role in tendering and securing work while ensuring projects align with our high standards and profitability goals. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and submit professional quotations/estimates to meet client specifications and deadlines. Interpret engineering drawings, including geometric tolerances, symbols, revisions, and layouts. Research and calculate costs for materials, labour, transport, and equipment. Collaborate with Directors and stakeholders to assess risks, agree rates, and set profit margins. Drive continuous improvement in processes to enhance quality and efficiency.within manufacturing Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, vendors, and suppliers. Obtain timely quotes from suppliers to support accurate costings. Monitor project costs to ensure they stay within budget estimates. Uphold health and safety standards across the site. Undertake additional tasks to support AJM Engineering Ltds objectives. What Were Looking For: Minimum 2 years experience in estimating or a similar role within a manufacturing environment (ISO 9001 or AS9100 essential). Proven track record of providing quotes for aerospace and defense primes. Background in machining (desirable but not essential). Experience with MRP systems (desirable but not essential). Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word). Personal Attributes: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Professional, mature, and composed under pressure. Energetic, self-motivated, and results-driven with a proactive approach. Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines. Team player who supports colleagues and company goals. Respectful, determined, and committed to delivering the best possible outcomes.
