We are currently recruiting for an Extrusion Operator/Technician for a client based in Nottingham. This is an exciting opportunity to join a purpose-driven organisation that focuses on developing innovative food products and ingredients with sustainability at the core. The role involves operating, maintaining and troubleshooting extrusion equipment. You will be responsible for ensuring consistent product quality, maintaining equipment reliability and adhering to strict food safety standards. The role also includes keeping detailed production records, implementing preventive maintenance, and working closely with Research & Development and Quality Assurance teams to optimise formulations and process parameters. Training production staff on extrusion processes and supporting broader manufacturing and R&D activities will also be key parts of the position. We're looking for candidates with UK food manufacturing experience in operating and maintaining food production equipment, preferably in a manufacturing setting. A strong understanding of food safety practices such as HACCP and GMP, and standards like BRCGS or SALSA, is important. You should be confident with routine maintenance, have excellent problem-solving skills and be adaptable to changing business needs. Experience with twin-screw or single-screw extruders and an understanding of ingredient functionality in extrusion would be highly advantageous.
