Monkey Puzzle Day Nursery, Eltham are currently recruiting for aNursery Chef. Monday to Friday 8.30am - 5.30pm (40 hours a week) with a one hour unpaid lunch break. We close on Bank holidays and for 1 week over the Christmas period. Plus two closure days per year for staff training. Duties will include: Preparing and cooking home made meals and snacks, for the children, using fresh produce daily (breakfast, lunch and tea) Washing up after meal times Maintaining a clean working environment in the kitchen in line with our 5 food hygiene rating Following legal requirements in line with Food Hygiene Standards Completing stock/food orders each week Following/Planning weekly menus Accommodating childrens dietary/allergy requirements and food preferences Planning meals in line with annual celebrations (Easter, Christmas Dinner, afternoon teas etc) Kitchen experience is required, preferably experience working in a nursery kitchen or school setting. This job role involves carrying trays up and down one flight of stairs. Job role is to commence asap, ideally by August 2025. References and a DBS will need to be obtained prior to agreed start date. Hourly rate starting from 14.50 Full induction, training and uniform will be provided.
