This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled solicitor to make a significant impact within a well-established and respected firm.Position OverviewAs an Associate in the Private Client team, you will play a crucial role in delivering expert legal advice to a diverse range of clients. You will handle a broad spectrum of private client matters, with a particular focus on wills, executry administration, tax planning, and trust creation and management. This position offers the opportunity to work independently while also collaborating with team members on complex transactions.ResponsibilitiesDraft and advise on wills, ensuring they accurately reflect clients' wishes and estate planning goalsManage executry administration, including advising on complex tax-paying estatesProvide tax planning guidance, with an emphasis on Inheritance Tax (IHT) and reliefs such as Agricultural Property Relief (APR) and Business Property Relief (BPR)Create and manage trusts, advising on technical trust law and asset protectionAssist private clients with complex issues, including contentious executries and trust mattersPrepare and advise on Powers of Attorney and GuardianshipsContribute to the financial success of the team by meeting agreed targetsEngage in business development and marketing strategies to support the firm's growthRequirementsQualified Scottish Solicitor with at least 5 years' PQE in private client lawSolid knowledge of wills, executries, tax planning, and trustsExcellent drafting and advisory skillsAbility to work independently and manage own caseloadCollaborative mindset and willingness to work with team members on complex mattersCommitment to contributing to the team's development and successExperience in business development and marketing is advantageousCompany OverviewWith roots dating back over a century, our client has established itself as a leading Scottish law firm known for its independence and deep local connections.
