Senior Care Assistant Nights -Adelaide - £1000 Welcome BonusSalary: 13.80 per hour + £1.00 per hour enhancement for 2 years As a member of the management team, under the Home Manager, to assist in the effective and efficient management of the Home on a day-to-day basis, maintaining good standards of professional practice as required by the Northern Ireland Social Care Council, while working within the Christian ethos of the Council for Social Witness. In the absence of the Home Manager (or Deputy Head), to exercise responsibility for all aspects of the operation of the Home and to relate to all callers including relatives and professionals. Job Title: Senior Care Assistant ( £1000 Welcome Bonus) Salary: 13.80 per hour + £1.00 per hour enhancement for 2 years Hours: Post 1 : 24 hours per week Post 2: 36 hours per week (Shift: 8pm – 8am or 4.30pm – 10.30pm) Responsible to: Service Manager MAIN FUNCTION OF JOB As a member of the management team, under the Home Manager, to assist in the effective and efficient management of the Home on a day-to-day basis, maintaining good standards of professional practice as required by the Northern Ireland Social Care Council, while working within the Christian ethos of Adelaide House In the absence of the Home Manager (or Deputy Head), to exercise responsibility for all aspects of the operation of the Home and to relate to all callers including relatives and professionals. BACKGROUND INFORMATION Adelaide House is one of 6 homes for older people run by the Council for Social Witness (Older People Services) and is situated at 24 Adelaide Park, Belfast BT9 6FX. The Home accommodates 45 residents who have a variety of physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs and varying levels of dependency. The Home operates a No Smoking Policy. CRITERIA QUALIFICATIONS AND KNOWLEDGE • Experience of contributing to a care plan • A good understanding of adults who require care • A minimum of NVQ/QCF Level 2 Award in Health and Social Care and willingness to work towards Level 3. • Appropriate IT skills to be able to use Microsoft Word, email, RQIA portal and electronic recording systems RELEVANT EXPERIENCE • A minimum of 2 years’ experience caring for older people, people with disabilities or people with mental health needs. • Willingness to achieve competency in administering medications, which must be completed within 4 weeks of start date. SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES • Availability for flexible hours working (including weekends), which may include hours beyond the normal shift pattern • Must maintain registration on the relevant section on the Northern Ireland Social Care Council register • Must be willing to behave in a manner which respects the Christian ethos of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland In order to apply for this position, please use this link, Closing date for receiptis 4pm on Wednesday 28th July2025.
